The Beholder 2 beta test is underway, and you can sign up to test out this sequel to the original dystopian strategy game!
I apologize because this post is about two days too late due to some confusion I had with emails sent to Death by Beta. In any case, I wanted to let you know that Warm Lamp Games and Alawar Premium are running the Beholder 2 beta test right now. If you want to get involved you can still sign up!
I (sadly) never tried the original Beholder game although I remember reading up on it a few times on Steam. It sounds creepy in a very Orwellian sort of way (I am getting old, does anyone even remember the book “1984” these days?). Basically, you are a landlord working for an oppressive government who is tasked with monitoring all of the tenants in your apartment building. You must watch their every move to ensure they aren’t plotting against the establishment. At the time, it sounded just about as creepy as it did intriguing (and fun).
Beholder 2 continues that trend and expands upon it. This time around, you are working directly for the government in one of the Ministries, starting as an intern and working your way up. Depending on your skill at manipulation and deception, you may be able to rise to power and control everything. Or not if the government goons get you first. Have a look at the gameplay trailer below for a glimpse of the game.
If you want to get involved with the Beholder 2 beta test, all you need to do is head over the to the game’s website and sign up for the Ministry Bulletin at the bottom of the page, and they will send you link to download the beta. Enjoy being subversive!
