MecurySteam is running a Raiders of the Broken Planet closed beta test on May 13 and 14, so sign up to test out this new 4v1 shooter!
Here is an interesting piece of news that I noticed this morning via our friends at PCGamesN. It turns out that MercurySteam is going to be running a short Raiders of the Broken Planet closed beta this coming weekend. This seems like something many of you might be interested in signing up for!
Raiders of the Broken Planet certainly sounds interesting on paper. Essentially, it is a 4v1 shooter that takes place on, you guessed it, the Broken Planet. There is a sci-fi story about an important energy source on the planet, and some indigenous aliens that live there, but I think most of you will be more interested in the mechanics. Four players (the Raiders) land on the planet to shoot and brawl their way to their target, and one player (the Antagonist) tries to stop them. From what I understand, the Antagonist player will have a lot of tricks at their disposal, including AI controlled minions to mob the Raiders.
It sounds fun, although I must admit I haven’t always had a great experience in asymmetric PvP games. Hopefully Raiders of the Broken Planet can pull it off. I recommend reading over the game’s website for more information. And while you are there, don’t forget to sign up for the Raiders of the Broken Planet closed beta test. The test event runs this coming weekend on May 13 and 14, so sign up for a chance to participate!
