The Rise of Mooncrest demo is now available from Knightmayor, so give this tactical RPG a try ahead of the incoming Kickstarter campaign!
Somewhere along the way I signed up for the emailing list of KnightMayor, an indie game development studio in Austin, Texas. At least, I guess so since I have been getting emails from them. It is a good thing too, because if not I wouldn’t have gotten the email a few hours ago informing me that the Rise of Mooncrest demo is now available for everyone to try.
Since I have been sitting at work all morning I haven’t had a chance to try the demo myself. I have managed to read about The Rise of Mooncrest and watch some of the gameplay videos. The Rise of Mooncrest is being developed by Rick Burton, a former Bioware veteran, and the Knightmayor team. I think the game might best be described as a tactical board game with some RPG story layered on top. Admittedly that doesn’t do the game justice, so I recommend watching the gameplay videos below and reading over the game’s website for more details. Gameplay at this stage seems fairly straight forward, much like a classic board game, but that isn’t a bad thing. But, again, I haven’t tried it yet so don’t take my word for it.
From what I understand, the Rise of Mooncrest demo is being launched now ahead of the incoming Kickstarter campaign for the game. You may want to give the demo a go to see what you think. If you like what you see then you can help fund the Kickstarter once it launches. Enjoy!
