Sign up for the Mirage beta test for a chance to test out this brutal magic and melee multiplayer game from the makers of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare!
I have been surfing all of the E3 news that is piling up out there in the netherverse, and I happened to notice a post over on Rock Paper Shotgun regarding Mirage: Arcane Warfare. I was curious about the game and so I headed over to the game’s official website. Lo and behold, the Mirage beta registration is already up and running, so everyone can start signing up for a chance to test out this new multiplayer first person hack’n’slash arena game.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare is being developed by Torn Banner Studios, the same good folks that previously brought us Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. I never tried Chivalry, but from what I heard from friends it was a very brutal multiplayer game based on medieval melee weapons and hacking off your opponents limbs. If the gameplay trailer below is any indication, Mirage: Arcane Warfare looks to continue the bloody carnage, although this time there is a distinct Prince of Persia feel to the game with the heavy addition of magic to complement the melee action. The classes sound fun, with one of them even having a magic carpet to ride:
Vypress – An elusive and agile assassin that uses her mobility and speed to cut foes down.
Alchemancer – Powerful mage that relies solely on the devastating power and capabilities of his magic.
Taurant– Hulking brute that excels at melee and uses his size and physical strength to dominate enemies upclose.
Tinker – Defensive trap specialist that uses her cunning and wit to defeat larger opponents.
Viglist– Stalwart defender that supports her teammates with her control over the battlefield and knockaround capabilities.
Entropist – Staff wielding hybrid that has a magic carpet and a mixture of offensive and support capabilities.
If that sounds like your cup o’tea then I recommend that you head over to the game’s website and sign up for the Mirage beta! According to the Mirage FAQ, the closed beta is set to launch sometime this summer. Check it out!
