Paragon Early Access and Beta Weekends

Paragon-postThanks to the current workload from my new job I haven’t really had much time for gaming, including beta testing.  I actually received an invite to test out the Paragon beta, for example, but had to skip it unfortunately.  That also means that I haven’t really kept as up to date as I would like regarding the Paragon testing development.  Thankfully one of our readers, Tom (I didn’t get a last name), emailed DBB to notify us of what is happening in the Paragon world.  Notably, the Paragon early access packs are now available for purchase, and there will be a number of beta weekends for those that don’t pre-order the game.

For those that don’t know, Paragon is the new incoming third person sci-fi MOBA from Epic Games.  As I said, I haven’t tried it but I have heard some good things about it.  It also uses some kind of card system (don’t they all these days?) to enhance your tactics in some fashion, and I believe that everything is a skill shot.  Oh, and it sounds like the game will be free to play with mostly cosmetic items used to finance the game:

“Paragon is designed so that all players can compete and win without ever having to spend money. All Heroes are free, and cards can only be earned by playing the game. The game will never be pay-to-win, meaning we will never sell gameplay-affecting items. We will sell cosmetic items (skins, emotes), boosts and other convenience items, along with Paid Early Access. We’re taking this approach because we believe that competitive games need to be fair for all players.”

You can read more details in the official Paragon early access announcement via the Paragon Reddit.  If you are interested in grabbing a Paragon early access Founder’s Pack, you can do so via the Paragon website.  If you want to simply wait for the beta weekends then keep an eye on the Reddit for incoming information (and I will be sure to mention it here on DBB).  Check it out!
