Here is some testing news that was brought to our attention by Eddie See via Twitter (thanks Eddie!). The Escape from Tarkov closed beta is scheduled for sometime in the first quarter of this year, and you can sign up for a chance to test it out.
Now I imagine that many of you are scratching your heads right now and asking “what is Escape from Tarkov” much as I did myself (or maybe I am just out of it and all of you already know about the game). Well, I have been scrambling to read up on the game myself, but I must say that it sounds intriguing. The official website bills the game as “...a hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and story-driven walkthrough.” As I read about the game I get a sort of STALKER vibe although that might simply because both games take place in Russia and are unforgiving shooters. Escape from Tarkov seems to be more about fighting your way through a fictional city ravaged by war rather than nuclear fallout and bizarre anomalies. Still, in either case it is all about survival.
Escape from Tarkov from Battlestate Games is set to feature a lot of gameplay elements, and I recommend that you head over to the game’s website and read all of the details. Since the game has MMO elements you won’t be alone in Tarkov, which may be either a really good thing or a really bad thing, depending on how your day goes. Since there are no rules you can expect to get help as often as you get a bullet in the back. And being a hardcore game you will lose all of the gear that you accumulated if you die. Fun times!
You can check out the gameplay trailer to get a glimpse of Escape from Tarkov in action. If you like what you see then you can sign up for the Escape from Tarkov closed beta via the game’s website. You can also pre-order the game to get guaranteed beta access. Check it out!
