You may or may not have heard about this, but Italian game developer Potato Killer Studios have been working on a new MMORPG call Land of Britain that is going to be heavily based on the wonderful three faction RvR gameplay that Dark Age of Camelot revolutionized. While they are hard at work on Land of Britain, Potato Killer also decided that they should make an online card game in the meantime because everyone else is doing it and hey, why not? Fangold is the resulting card game and it will serve to introduce players to the world of Land of Britain and hopefully be fun to boot. And, according to the email I got last night, the Fangold alpha and beta registration is now live and waiting for you to sign up!
I am not sure if online card games need any explanation at this point, and Fangold looks to be more of the same great card collecting, deck building, and turn based gameplay that other similar games have pounded into us. If you are a big fan of Hex, Hearthstone, Magic Online, or any other such online card game then Fangold is worth a look. Like most online card games, you will be able to collect new cards in game or purchase additional cards with real money. Fangold will also allow you “melt” down unwanted cards and craft new ones. Read over the original Fangold announcement post to get a better idea of the game.
If you would like to get in on the Fangold action then I recommend heading over to the game’s website and signing up for the Fangold alpha and beta. You will need to create an account in the process, but it is a fairly quick process. Check it out!
