Back in June we told you about the alpha registration for Zems, an in-development online card game that mixes in some tactical positioning as part of its gameplay. Well good news on the alpha testing front, because the good folks over at Team Impulse have set this coming weekend to hold the first Zems alpha event. Better yet, if you haven’t signed up for the Zems alpha there is still time to do so!
We did our best to delve into the gameplay of Zems last time despite there not being a huge amount of information available about the game. I recommend that you go back and read over our earlier post to learn what we know about the game. To recap briefly, Zems is an online CCG in which players will build decks is the norm for such games. What is different is that the game is played out using a hex based game board. Units must be placed by playing their cards, and positioning on the game board is critical. It also sounds like you can move the units around, meaning that Zems is looking to combine the gameplay of CCGs and turn based tactical games into one package.
The first Zems alpha event starts at the stroke of midnight that begins Aug 29 (Pacific time) and lasts for 48 hours. If you want to get in on the action you have until that stroke of midnight to sign up for the Zems alpha event, otherwise you will have to wait until the next event. From what I understand, this is a fairly open alpha event and anyone that signs up can help test out the game, so get on it!
